Search Reeves County Released Inmates

A search for Reeves County released inmates must follow the agency that last held the person. County jail exits, state-prison discharges, federal releases, and immigration transfers appear in different records. A Reeves County released inmate search therefore starts with the local custody report, then moves to Texas corrections, court, federal, or immigration sources when the facts require it. Positive evidence matters. A release time, judgment, transfer entry, or agency status is far more reliable than a name simply disappearing from a live list.

Reeves County Release Meanings

“Released” describes the end of one custodian’s control, not necessarily the end of all custody. In the Reeves County daily report, a row marked RELEASED means the person left the Reeves County Jail. The same event might be a bond-out, completion of a local sentence, dismissal, transfer on another warrant, delivery to the Texas Department of Criminal Justice, or transfer to federal or immigration custody. A timestamp confirms the jail exit. It does not, by itself, prove the person returned to the community.

Texas agencies use narrower terms. Parole is conditional release from prison while the sentence continues under supervision. Mandatory supervision is a statutory release route for eligible state cases. Discharge means the sentence or supervision obligation has ended. A court may also order community supervision, often called probation, instead of prison or after a jail term. “Time served” means the court credits enough time already spent in custody to satisfy the confinement ordered. Each label points to a different follow-up record.

A detention record is not a finding of guilt. Match more than a name, especially when aliases or common names appear. Age, birth date, booking number, case number, and agency identifier can prevent a mistaken match.

Reeves County Daily Release Evidence

The official Reeves County Jail page links an “Inmates in Custody” PDF. Despite that title, an indexed official edition contained both current and released rows. The observed report covered one calendar day and was produced the next morning. Its web address rotates, so the stable jail page is the right entry point. Save the report date and generation time when documenting a result.

The file can show a person’s name, age, city, booking and release times, custody status, arresting agency, charge, bond status, bond amount, and a booking-photo area. It is a mixed daily snapshot, not a permanent release archive. The county has not promised a fixed posting hour or online retention term. If an expected event falls after the report cutoff, check a later report or contact the Sheriff’s Office.

Roster absence is not release proof. A rotating window, spelling difference, publication delay, transfer, or restricted record can also make a name disappear.

Was a Reeves Release a Bond-Out?

Reeves County’s report places charge-level bond details near booking and release data. A released line showing “Surety Bond” may support the conclusion that bond was the route out. A “Sentenced” entry suggests a different path. Neither label should be stretched beyond the fields shown. Multiple charges can also have different bond states, and another agency may retain a hold after the local bond is posted.

When the cause is unclear, request the custody-disposition code, bond type and status, release order reference, and receiving agency. The related court docket can show the legal basis, such as a personal or surety bond, dismissal, acquittal, judgment, probation order, or commitment. The jail record remains the stronger source for the physical exit time. Taken together, those records distinguish likely community release from a transfer.

Reeves County Release Record Fields

A useful record answers five points: who left, which custodian released the person, when it happened, what disposition caused it, and where the person went. The public PDF supplies much of that picture but may omit a plain-language release reason. A focused request can seek the existing fields that complete it.

FieldWhat it shows
Full name, age or DOB, aliasesIdentity and namesake checks
Booking or agency numberThe exact custody episode
Booking and release date/timeEntry to and exit from Reeves custody
Custody statusWhether the report labels the row in custody or released
Charges and cause numbersThe cases linked to the booking
Bond type, status, and amountPossible bond-out evidence
Disposition or release codeThe agency’s recorded reason for exit
Receiving agency and transfer dateWhether another custodian took control

Court files can add the final judgment, dismissal, sentence, probation order, or commitment order. They establish the legal case history. Unless a court record states the exact exit, it should not replace the jail ledger for physical release time.

Request Reeves County Release Records

The Texas Public Information Act, Government Code Chapter 552, provides the request route for existing government records. No special statewide form is required. Send the request to the body that maintains the record and ask for a defined booking or date range. An agency need not answer a narrative question, conduct research, create a new list, or maintain an open-ended future request.

  1. Identify the person with a full name and DOB, age, or booking number. State the booking date or narrow date range.
  2. Ask the Reeves County Sheriff’s records function for the booking/release sheet, timestamps, disposition code, bond fields, charges, cause numbers, receiving agency, transfer record, and booking photograph.
  3. Request electronic delivery when practical. Ask the office to identify any item that is withheld or not maintained.
  4. Keep the request and response. Compare the custody entry with the correct court docket or receiving agency.

No Sheriff-specific release-record fee, photo fee, records hours, or guaranteed production time was verified. Charges and withholding procedures depend on the Act and the request. Active-law-enforcement material, juvenile information, medical data, victim information, and sealed or expunged material may be redacted or withheld.

Why Reeves Release Records Disappear

Texas now places expunction procedure in Code of Criminal Procedure Chapter 55A. Nondisclosure is a separate mechanism under Government Code Chapter 411. Expunction can require qualifying records to be removed or destroyed under a court order. Nondisclosure restricts public disclosure in qualifying cases but is not the same process. A missing court line, photo, or search result may reflect a lawful restriction. It does not prove that no arrest, custody, or release occurred.

The Texas Judicial Branch nondisclosure forms show the distinct order process. The image below is a successful capture of that official source.

That court channel helps explain why public visibility can change without rewriting the underlying history. Texas RioGrande Legal Aid lists expunction, nondisclosure, and inaccurate-record correction among possible services for Reeves County, though eligibility and outcomes depend on the individual matter.

Find Reeves County Released Inmates

Start with the custodian, not merely the word “Pecos.” Pecos is the Reeves County seat, while Pecos County is a different Texas county. The city also hosts municipal, federal-court, legacy contract-prison, and immigration offices. A search routed to the wrong system can produce a plausible but false conclusion.

  1. Open the official Reeves jail page and inspect the current daily PDF for an explicit release time and status.
  2. Check the misdemeanor or felony court docket for the order behind the event. Use both clerks if a charge changed level.
  3. If a transfer went to TDCJ, use the current state search, then the agency’s email, telephone, IVSS, or parole channels for history.
  4. For a federal case, use BOP Locator and the Western District of Texas docket. For immigration custody, use ICE ODLS promptly.
  5. If online sources are silent, request a date-bounded booking/release sheet and receiving-agency record.

The 24-Hour Releases page focuses on the county’s calendar-day report, while the main search path remains complete here. A positive timestamp plus a court or receiving-agency record is the soundest combination.

Which Reeves Release Court?

Reeves County has a consequential record split. The County Clerk keeps misdemeanor criminal records. The District Clerk handles felony matters in the 143rd District Court. A charge reduction or transfer may make both searches useful. The county property-record search is not a criminal docket.

Federal Pecos Division matters belong to the Western District of Texas and can be followed through PACER. Federal pretrial custody may remain with the U.S. Marshals Service even when a person is housed in a local building. BOP becomes the person-level locator after federal commitment. Texas parole release review differs again: board members vote files rather than hold formal public release hearings, so there is no public hearing calendar to search.

The re:SearchTX court-record portal may supply electronic access, though court and document availability varies. Its captured search interface illustrates the court layer.

A docket explains the legal order. Pair it with the custody record when the exact time or receiving agency matters.

Reeves Post-Release Supervision Checks

Parole and probation lead to different offices. The TDCJ Parole Division supervises parole and mandatory-supervision cases, while the Texas Board of Pardons and Paroles decides release. Reeves County routes state parole supervision to the Monahans District Parole Office, subject to residence plans, transfers, interstate arrangements, and specialized caseloads. Court-ordered probation is administered through the Reeves County Community Supervision and Corrections Department in Pecos.

A bond release alone does not place someone on either form of supervision. Use the judgment, supervision order, and agency confirmation. The Post-Release Supervision page separates these routes and records the conflicting published local probation phone numbers.

Parole
Conditional prison release while the sentence continues under state supervision.
Probation
Court-ordered community supervision administered by a CSCD.
Discharge
Recorded completion of the sentence or supervision obligation.

Was the Reeves Release an ICE Transfer?

An ICE detainer can turn a Reeves County Jail release into transfer to immigration custody. ICE describes a detainer as a request that a local agency notify it before ordinary release and hold the person for up to 48 additional hours for transfer. The county report can therefore truthfully mark an exit while the person remains confined elsewhere.

Use the ICE Online Detainee Locator System by A-number and country of birth, or exact name and country of birth with an optional DOB. ICE says ODLS covers current custody and releases from ICE custody within roughly the prior 60 days, subject to omissions and exclusions. A later negative result is not historical proof. The Pecos ICE site is a check-in office for people in an immigration process, not an overnight jail.

The ICE detainer explanation supplies the transfer context shown in this successful source capture.

The distinction matters: release from Reeves County custody may be the first step in another agency’s custody chain.

Search Legacy Reeves Detention Releases

The Reeves County Detention Center dominates older federal search results, but old directory pages do not prove current operations. GEO reported that the BOP contract for RCDC I and II ended in May 2021. BOP later stated that all privately managed prison contracts had ended by November 2022. RCDC III also lacks a currently verified custodian sufficient to describe it as an active federal or ICE prison.

For a former contract prisoner, search the BOP Inmate Locator by name or agency number and consult the federal docket. A past release date and released status show the end of BOP custody, not the end of all supervision or other custody. For sufficiently old records, archival channels may be needed. A present ICE question belongs in ODLS, while a pretrial federal question belongs with the docket and USMS.

Reeves Released Versus In Custody

Choose a system based on the custody event. No single Reeves County released inmate search spans county jail, state prison, municipal detention, federal custody, and immigration custody.

SystemCurrent custodyRelease evidence
Reeves County Jail PDFIN CUSTODY rowRELEASED row and timestamp within its daily window
TDCJ online searchCurrent state-prison recordNo durable released result; use historical channels
Court docketOrders may explain detentionBond, dismissal, sentence, probation, or commitment order
BOP LocatorFederal institution or statusPast release date and released/no-facility status
ICE ODLSCurrent ICE detentionSome ICE releases within about 60 days

Notification systems add an alert layer, not a permanent release ledger. Texas shifted county enrollment from legacy VINE to IVSS-Counties in September 2025, while TDCJ maintains a separate IVSS for state prison and parole events. Confirm any alert with the originating record.

Reeves County Release Facilities

Five local and historical entries require separate custody paths. The primary county jail publishes the mixed daily report. Pecos municipal corrections holds local misdemeanor and USMS populations. The two RCDC entries need current-status warnings. ICE Pecos is a check-in office and historic short-term processing context, not a conventional jail.

  • Reeves County Jail
  • Pecos Municipal Criminal Justice Center
  • Reeves County Detention Center I & II (legacy complex)
  • Reeves County Detention Center III (legacy/current status unverified)
  • ICE Pecos Check-in Office / historic Pecos Hold Room

Confirm the legal custodian before relying on an address, phone number, or old facility label. That one step prevents a local release, federal transfer, and immigration appointment from being treated as the same event.
